Mangaluru: Yakshagana artiste ends his life due to suspected financial crisis

Mangaluru, Aug 18: A Yakshagana artiste ended his life in Ullanje near Kateel here on Thursday, August 18.

The deceased is identified as Shambukumar (48), a resident of Kodethoor.

He was working in Puttur, Bappanadu and Kateel Yakshagana melas for the past several years.

He was also running the Chikka Mela of Umamaheshwari Temple, Hoige Gudde near Haleyangadi.

It is suspected that he might have committed suicide due to a financial crisis.

Mulki police have visited the spot.

    Bhakhth spotted. FYI long before covid and lockdown the economy already was shrinking due to GST and Demonitization which was led to closure of thousands of small scale industries and now due to communal agend and corruption in ruling party made further worst

    MG hegde was right during a protest. He meant that it now takes a person to be killed by a muslim to be heard by this govt or get them mlato visit to ur house to hear out ones problems. Who is responsible for this? I wont blame the govt. It is the voters who dont wont for development. RIP to the departed. Condolences to his family.
