Ajman, Aug 19: Thumbay Hospital Ajman, the leading hospital owned and operated by Thumbay Group, organized a free medical and dental camp to mark Pakistan’s 75th Independence Day anniversary. The camp, which was held at the Al Nuaimia hospital from 11 am to 8 pm on Sunday August 14 was inaugurated by special dignitaries from Pakistan social organizations, including Iftikhar Ahmed Chaudhry, general secretary, Pakistan Social Centre (Sharjah), Syed Saleem Akhtar, vice president, Pakistan Overseas Global, UAE, Shafiq Ur Rehman, president CPA, Pakistan UAE Chapter and presided over by Dr Thumbay Moideen, founder president of Thumbay Group.
The special Independence Day celebration camp offered free medical and dental consultations for visitors from the Pakistani community with specialist doctors such as Internal Medicine Specialist, General Practitioner, General Surgeon, Gynecologist, Pediatrician, Orthopedic, Dermatologist, Dentist, Ophthalmologist and ENT Specialist. Visitors also availed free blood sugar, blood pressure & BMI checks and medicines. In addition, visitors availed free ECG, X-ray, one free physiotherapy session, 40% discount on radiology investigation, 25% discount across various services like laboratory analysis, and medical, surgical and dental procedures too.
“Initiatives like community medical camps are often well received because they allow doctors to catch undiagnosed cases of common non-communicable diseases like diabetes and hypertension. In one such instance, a 54-year-old female was screened with extremely high levels blood sugar and blood pressure, and cross consultation were done including an eye-check that detected early signs of diabetic retinopathy. Based on these investigations, internal medicine doctors could help her in starting off her treatment early with proper medication and prevent further deterioration of her health and vision. Neglected chronic conditions like diabetes can silently have a long-lasting impact on the overall health,” said Dr Faisal Parvez, chief operating officer, Thumbay Hospital Ajman.
