Udupi: Second PU student wins contest, earns chance to observe DC's day-long activities

Udupi, Aug 20: Deekshitha from Brahmavar, the winner of Kaushalya Spoorthi earned a day-long opportunity to observe the activities at the deputy commissioner's (DC) office here on Friday August 19.

Deekshitha, second year student of Kota Viveka Pre University College, got the experience of observing the activities of DC M Kurma Rao for a day.

The Karnataka Skill Development Corporation (KSDC) held the 'Kaushalya Spoorthi' essay competition at the district level. The winner get an opportunity to participate in the office activities and interact with the DC.

Deekshitha is the daughter of Ramesh and Shyamala, residing in Kolambe area in Brahmavar.

Deekshitha took part in many meetings and events held in the taluk office, Sri Krishna Math and district level meeting with minister and MLA regarding celebration of silver jubilee of the formation of Udupi district, along with the DC.

Speaking to media she said, “I am so happy that I got such a memorable experience today with the DC after participating in the activities. He is very simple and kind. I was expecting the DC's life to be very luxurious with a respectful post. But now, I experienced his busy schedule which is not so easy to handle. I am feeling very fortunate to be here. I want to be an IFS officer.”

DC Kurma Rao said that it was a good initiative by KSDC.
