Mumbai, Aug 21 (IANS): 'Saath Nibhaana Saathiya' actress Payal Ghosh unites with Muhammad Adil Mirza for upcoming series 'Mera Dost Hai'. The story of the series is about the unusual relationship between two individuals, who fall in love with each other, despite the big age difference between them.

She says: "I'm excited to be part of the series. It's an amazing story between two individuals who are purely friends. The two have a huge age difference. They suffer a lot of issues in society. As some call me a gold digger others think that we can't be friends or have an affair. I play a teacher, Naina who is sweet, beautiful and young. She explores friendship with one of her student's dad whose wife is no more."

Talking about his role, Mirza says: "I play Robin, who is rich and very well settled professionally. But I'm not a responsible father as my son, who is in his teens, needs my guidance and time, which I fail to give him after his mom's death."

"I find myself alone and I meet his teacher, and we become best friends. But society is forever bothered about our relationship. The series highlights the emotional roller-coaster a man and a woman undergo when they are just friends and are not linked in any other way.."
