Karkala: Leopard falls into trap laid by forest dept, taken to reserve forest

Karkala, Aug 21: A leopard was caught in a trap laid by the forest department near the house of Gunavati at Bola Kodi near Belman in the taluk.

The public had apprised the forest department about leopards running around at Bola Kodi.

The department has been successful in catching one at the moment.

The villagers are saying that two more leopards are running around in the vicinity. Two more traps have been placed by the forest department, according to forest officer Hukrappa.

The leopard was taken to Bhagavathi reserve forest at Shivamogga.
