Daijiworld Media Network – Bantwal (MS)

Bantwal, Aug 22: Due to the national highway work that is going on between B C Road and Addahole, frequent traffic jam is noticed at Kalldka, Melkar and Soorikumer areas of the taluk.

On Sunday, August 21, commuters had a difficult time as a truck broke down near Kalladka. As such the vehicle movement was more because of Sunday and many functions were planned.

As vehicles stood on both ends of the road for a long distance, an ambulance that was carrying a critically ill patient also got stuck in the traffic jam.

Chaos prevailed at road approaching from Mudipu to Melkar that connects to highway. Vehicles stood in long queue on Mudipu road also.

Underpass work is going on in every junction on the highway. Two to three cranes are operating on the highway itself in order to fix slabs on the roof of underpass. This is causing huge inconvenience.

There is also accusation that allowing vehicles to travel on the narrow road that is near Mani junction is causing further issues. In addition, the potholes on the roads caused due to recent rains is adding up to the woes of the commuters.
