Kundapur: Tree falls on house, two injured, child escapes unhurt

Kundapur, Aug 23: Jadkal near Kollur is lashed with heavy rains since the past two days. A huge tree fell on the house of Krishna Naik at Halkal under Jadkal gram panchayat limits on August 21 night, destroying the house completely.

Daily wage labourers Krishna Naik and his wife got injured in the mishap. Their baby survived without any injuries. The loss is estimated to be Rs five lac.

The poor family is burdened with the destruction of the house. Krishna Naik’s wife is already suffering from cancer. Their house is located just by the side of forest department office. Villagers urged the government to provide quick relief to the family.

Jadkal gram panchayat president Vanajakshi Shetty, secretary Shankar Achar, village accountant Veeresh visited the spot and relayed information to the tahsildar and deputy commissioner about the loss and damage.
