Karkala: Absconding notorious thief wanted in mutiple cases arrested

Karkala, Aug 23: City police station personnel arrested Mohammed Iqbal (54), a native of Vijayanagara in Hassan and accused of stealing Rs 1.45 lac from Dhwani Hardware shop located at Manjushree building opposite TMA Pai hospital on Karkala Bypass road. Mohammed was arrested from Madikeri. 

Mohammed confessed to the crime when interrogated and said that he, along with his relative Ibrahim and uncle Noora, had stolen the amount in June 2022. Both Ibrahim and Noora are natives of Kargal of Sagar taluk in Shivamogga. Noora is already arrested and lodged in Udupi prison. Search for Ibrahim Kargal is on.

Mohammed Iqbal is a notorious thief. He has cases against him at Kota police station of Udupi, Sirsi city police station in Uttara Kannada, Banavasi police station, Hubballi APMC police station, Somwarpet, Gonikoppal, Ponnampet, Srimanagala police station, Konanur police station, Kadoor, Balehonnur police stations, Mysuru city south police station, city police station of Chitradurga and Chikpet police station in Bengaluru.

Iqbal was produced in the court by Karkala city police.
