Mangaluru, Aug 23: “Siddaramaiah is a person with socialist mind-set and is an atheist,” said MP Nalin Kumar Kateel reacting to reports that Siddaramaiah had entered a temple after consuming non-vegetarian food.
“He is a rebel leader questioning the campaign for freedom and patriotism. It is not possible to expect anything from him as he says that he does not believe in Savarkar and the nation. He has asked what if one goes to the temple after eating meat.”
“He has got down to arguments regarding Savarkar. Let him say clearly what his stand about Savarkar is. Why was Savarkar sent to prison in a deserted place? Was there a need for the British to send Savarkar to Andaman island if he had apologised to them? Which Congress leaders were imprisoned at Andaman prison? Why did Indira Gandhi release the postage stamp of Savarkar if he was not a freedom fighter? Can Siddaramaih dispute the statement of supreme leader of Congress, Indira Gandhi? Siddaramaiah is struggling after losing power. There is a tussle for power inside the Congress party.”
“There are questions in Congress if the next chief minister will be Siddaramaiah, D K Shivakumar, Parameshwar or Mallikarjuna Kharge. Siddaramaiah is eager to show that he is in the forefront and appears on the front page of the newspapers,” he said.
