Mangaluru: CODP conducts Awareness programme, demonstration on Honeybee-keeping

Mangaluru, Aug 23: Honeybees United Mangaluru in association with Canara Organization for Development & Peace® (CODP) organized an awareness programme on beekeeping and practical demonstration on Bee cultivation on August 22 at CODP Mangaluru.

The programme commenced with lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries.

Fr Vincent DSouza, director of CODP; commander JP Mascarenhas, retired Navy; Dr Suchithra, retired professor of Pathology; Suresh Raj, director of Honeybees United, Yashwantha Kumar, resource Person from Honeybees United and Stephen Pinto, advisor of EDUCARE Trustwere present on the dais.

Fr Vincent DSouza welcomed the dignitaries and participants of the programmr. He mentioned about the importance and benefits of the day’s programme in our life. A practical demonstration was arranged at Com JP Mascarenhas’premises. Yashwantha Kumar explained the importance of honey-bee keeping. He demonstrated the art ofbee cultivation viz, the season, duration, the type of box, the method of extracting honey, etc.

Earlier in the day, during the stage programme Steevan Pinto felicitated Educare student Preema Fernandes of Bannur for securing second rank in Hotel Management.

Prasanna Rao, Dericks Chess School Mangaluru, compered the programme. 82 participants, including CODP staff members, attended the programme.
