Mangaluru: Cattle thief who assaulted policemen during arrest nabbed

Mangaluru, Aug 23: Mangaluru CCB police personnel have arrested a notorious cattle thief Abdul Kabeer alias Parivala Kabeer(35), a resident of Bengre, Kasba, Mangaluru.

He was allegedly involved in several cattle theft cases registered in various police stations in the district. He had obtained bail and was not appearing for the court hearings. He had assaulted the CCB police and tried to escape from them. A case of obstructing police from performing their duty is registered against him at Panambur police station.

More than 15 cattle theft cases are registered against him at the police stations of Mangaluru south, north, Kankanady, Ullal, Panambur, Bajpe and Uppinangady.

He had obtained a bail from the court and was absconding without appearing for the hearings during the last seven months. He has been produced in the court and remanded to judicial custody.
