Height of stupidity to classify ganja as drugs. There is an urgent need to declassify ganja from banned drugs so that law enforcement can concentrate on nabbing real drugs & peddlers. Tobacco lobby is behind castigating ganja to protect its interests. Tobacco should be banned instead

It is the duty of everyone to protect the students from drugs. Hence good action from the police department is well appreciated. Drug peddlers must be punished heavily. Even there are a lot of restaurants where smoking and drinking among students is going on around Udupi and Manipal. Police Dept must take a serious notes of this.

Manipal is infamous for drug related issues since decades mainly due to influx of students from very rich families; and where big money is involved in demand of drugs, there will be no dearth of suppliers due to quantum of money involved as Money can buy anything!!

In fact, foreign students might be coming here as they can enjoy life without any hindrance due to lax enforcement of law and order, due to obvious reasons, unlike other good educational hubs; after only HNI family's children only can afford to study in Manipal and for them money is not a criterion!!
