Mangaluru: St Aloysius College celebrates Konakni Manyata Divas

Mangaluru, Aug 24: “Konkani language is very rich. From the mother's lap to brainstorming, thinking and responding in Konkani is still unforgettable," said Walter Nandalike, director of Daijiworld, freely shared his impressions as the chief guest at the Konkani Recognition Day (Konkani Manyata Divas) celebrations.

Konkani Recognition Day was celebrated by the Konkani Department of St Aloysius College (Autonomous). Fr Melwin Joseph Pinto, SJ, rector of St Aloysius Institutions; Dr Praveen Martis, SJ, the principal of the college along with the chief guest Walter Nandalike, founder and director of Daijiworld Media Ltd inaugurated the programme by playing the Gumat.

Konkani Association presidents, Flora Castellino, Severine Pinto, Richal, Divya Jyothi and student secretaries Joel Crasta and Steven Almeida were on the dais.

Caral Lobo, secretary of Konkani Sangha compered the programme. Joel Crasta welcomed the gathering and Steven Almeida rendered the vote of thanks.

The cultural programme was successfully managed by Vilisha Braggs.
