Sullia: Mortal remains of youth who drowned in Kumaradhara river found

Sullia, Aug 25: The mortal remains of Swami Shivu (25), youth from Bengaluru, who downed in Kumaradhara river on Sunday August 21 for bathing and got drowned was recovered after four days of search on Wednesday August 24 at a distance of 1.5 km from the bathing ghat of Kukke Subramanya temple.

Shivu ignored the warnings of the lifeguards near the bathing ghat and jumped into the river at a very dangerous spot. Expert swimmers, fire service personnel, home guards, Subrahmanya police, revenue officers, local people representatives and locals were relentlessly searching for the body of the youth.

Relatives of Shivu took the body to Mandya after post mortem of Subrahmanya primary health centre, in the ambulance of Subrahmanya temple.

Kadaba tahsildar Anantha Shankar, Sullia CI Naveen Chandra Jogi, SI Manjunatha, PDO U D Shekhar were present on the spot. A case is registered in this connection at Subrahmanya police station.
