Mangaluru, Aug 25: Railway ministry has authorised to increase the number of trips of train that runs between Mangaluru and Bengaluru via Mysuru from three times to six times a week.
A letter was written by south west railway in this regard to railway board on July 27. At the same time, train no 06547/48 KSR Bengaluru-Mangaluru special express train is merged with this train.
The terminal of no 16585/86 KSR Bengaluru-Mangaluru is extended to SMVB (Sir M Vishweshwaraiah railway station Baiyyappanahalli) from the present KSR (Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna Bengaluru City junction). Though the terminal is changed, the train will run in the usual route including Bengaluru city, Contonment, City and Kengeri.
Demand is being heard to extend this train to Karwar or Vasco railway station. Already Mysuru MP Pratap Simha has written lette to the union railway minister Ashwini Vaishnav and appealed to extend the train to Vasco-Da-Gama railway station to facilitate tourists between Goa and Mysuru.
