Kundapur: Excellent School students bag three medals in international competition

Kundapur, Aug 25: Dr Ramesh Shetty, principal of Excellent College and president of Sujnan educational trust said, “Students of Excellent School and College of Sunnari are carving niche for themselves in the sports field by achievements in state and international level competitions.”

Dr Shetty held a press conference at Excellent educational institute at Sunnari.

Dr Shetty further said, “In the district level chess tournament for boys and girls organized by PU education department of Udupi district, Manasa and Nihal N Shetty, students of Excellent PU college Kundapur have won first and third prizes respectively and got selected to state level. Excellent college is the only college from which two students from Udupi district are selected for state level.

“In the district level chess tournament organized by the education department, Tathva Shetty and Prakriti P Shetty, students of Excellent high school are selected for state level. In total four students of Excellent education institutions are selected for state level.

“In the third international level open karate championship that was held at Shivamogga, Vishlesh Naya bagged golds in both Kumite and Kata sections, while Mohammed Anees bagged silver in Kumite and Kata sections. Ayush Puthran won silver medal in Kata and broze medal in Kumite section.

“We are organizing state level PU volleyball tournament in order to inspire the students of this area in the field of sports. We are giving all round development to the students of our institution. Sri Education facility is given to students, who have talent in education, cultural and sports fields, whereby we do society-oriented work that helps the students of this area,” he said.

Treasurer of the institution Bharat Shetty, teachers Sathish, Jayalatha, Nagaraja Shetty and winning students were present in the press conference.
