Sullia: Sick woman carried on wooden pole - Family uses jeep, taken to task by locals

Daijiworld Media Network – Sullia (MS)

Sullia, Aug 26: A few days ago a video had gone viral on social media, in which two men were seen carrying an elderly sick woman tied to a wooden pole by cloth, saying that there is no road facility to their house. However, the tale took a twist as the locals saw that arecanut was being carried from the house of the elderly woman in jeep, which was waylaid by the locals and video of the whole act has also gone viral on social media.

A video of Kamala (70), being carried on wooden pole at Balakka of Noojibalthila village of Kadaba taluk had made waves. The video was made to highlight the plight of residents of that area because of no approach road to ambulance. On Thursday, a jeep had gone to the house of the same elderly woman and was returning with arecanut load. The locals who saw this waylaid the jeep and had heated arguments.

In the latest video made on Thursday, it can be clearly seen and heard that the locals are questioning the family members and saying, “Though rains are lashing since few days, you have used jeep to transport arecanut but carried the elderly woman on wooden pole few days ago. This is not right.”

Local gram panchayat members accused that the earlier video of elderly woman was a systematic ploy to malign the name of Noojibalthila gram panchayat.

There is nothing wrong in it. They have showed the development done by the MLA and Panchayath members and local body. Now people came to know real condition of roads. Instead of harassing that family people members better you people put pressure on govt or MLA to built better roads
