Udupi, Aug 26: A youth of Badami origin, who used to work as mechanic since many years, died of cardiac arrest on Thursday August 25. His relatives, who arrived in the city to claim his mortal remains refused to accept his wife and their 20-day-old baby.

Aiyappa (28) is the youth who was admitted to government hospital on Thursday morning as he felt severe chest pain. However, he died in the hospital.

Aiyappa had married a girl from Gangavathi after two years of love affair. Families of both boy and girl were against the alliance. Accordingly, family members of Aiyappa did not accept his wife as their daughter-in-law and also their baby as their grandchild.

Wife of deceased Aiyappa is totally broken. She and the baby are admitted to Sakhi centre in the city. Social worker Vishu Shetty urged the district administration to take care of mother and child so that they will not be left on the street.
