Puttur: Right-wing activists object presence of boys from different community with girls

Puttur, Aug 26: In one more instance of moral policing by a right wing organisation activists, boys and girls of different communities, who came to a café, were questioned, police were informed and a tense situation prevailed for some time.

A Hindu girl, two Muslim youths and two Christian girls came together to have juice at a joint near the city bus stand here. The Hindu activists who got the information, objected the presence of Muslim boys with girls and informed matter to city police station.

City police station SI Srikanth Rathod sprang into action and cleared the situation. He spoke to the boys and girls and informed their respective families and the matter was resolved.

Due to the gathering of huge crowd, the situation was tense for some time near the café.

    According to BJP only their members, MPs MLAs and ministers at central can sit Hindu and muslims in the Restaurant or in Parliament canteen or Assembly canteen. At any cost students, classmates, neighborhood can't sit or go anywhere. It's prohibited on their rules book.

    Such type of Goonda Raj is only seen in DK and surrounding areas; compare metros like MUMBAI! This type of overiding the fundamental rights of grown citizens is not acceptable under any circumstances and does not augur well for the overall socioeconomic development of the place!! No big or MNC company will ever set base in such type of environment!     Police sprang into action? The only time they need to take action is if there is something bad/illegal/offensive going on. Maybe the "action" necessary was to send those jobless self proclaimed "activists" back to their own business.

Why moral police need to interfere and poke theei nose in others wayof interactions and dealings in a day to day life. ? Such immoral police and Hindu activists were not there in Mangalore during mycollege days in 70's.     In certain faiths love is not a two way street. It is a one way street. They want their women to be at safe distance. That is why they keep them in confines. even to go to market they want a male relative to accompany the women and Girls. If one has such a mentality that women of my fold should not be seen or touched, then they should also apply their stance on all women irrespective of faiths. women who do not wear Burkha are not sluts. Even in marriage it is one way street. They ensure that the Girls follow only their religion after marriage. This will not be told at the time of falling in love. i hope you understood the point.

    Mr Ganesh, I totally agree. There are numerous cases where hindu boys have gone to cafe with girls of other community when they were beaten up or in cases like Hyderabad even murdered for marrying girls from their community.

    Under what law or statute people of any community moving together or having food or juice is an offense? Why parents of the victims have to be informed about these things? Are there any colleges which segregate students on the basis of their religion or caste? Do any buses have these laws? Should we ground planes & stop trains for carrying people from different communities moving together? Why police shouldn't take into custody these Immoral Police whom no legal authority has permitted to watch over what others do or indulge in?
