Kadaba, Aug 27: In a curious incident that has come to light at Kallembi of Edamangala village of the taluk, ancient cave like structure and earthen vessels were found while digging pit on a hill.
The cave and vessels are found on the land belonging to Kallembi Vishwanatha Gowda. When pit was big dug in order to plant arecanut saplings, suddenly the cave and earthen vessels were found.
In the cave like structure, two rooms of different width are noticed. Earthen vessels of various shapes are also found.
Locals say that in olden days it was usual to dig small caves and bury the vessels. Prof T Murugeshi, archaeological researcher of Shirva MSRS College visited the spot, collected the vessels and studying the same.
Prof Murugeshi said that they have already got the vessels cleaned and the report about its time will be given in a day or two.
