Aug 27: Dakshina Kannada reports 23 Covid cases, 15 infections in Udupi

Mangaluru/Udupi, Aug 27: Dakshina Kannada on Saturday, August 27, reported 23 new coronavirus cases while 15 cases were registered in Udupi.
 
The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,621 out of which 91 are currently active.
 
 
As many as eight patients were discharged on August 27. Zero deaths were reported on August 27. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,859.
 
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.
 
Positivity rate for the day stood at 2.08% percent.
 
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.
 
Udupi
 
15 coronavirus cases were reported on August 27. The total active Covid cases are 50.
 
A total of 10,90,439 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,84,148 have received both doses and 2,39,180 people have received booster doses.
 
Udupi reported 11 cases, while Kundapur added three and Karkala registered zero cases.
