The Jenu Kuruba and Koraga communities are on the verge of extinction. The government has recently released orders that it cannot reimburse funds spent on medical expenses any longer. The orders should be cancelled within a month and the Arogya Nidhi scheme should be reintroduced,” urged Koraga Abhivraddhigala Okkoota former president Sushila Nada speaking at the Udupi Patrika Bhavan on Monday, August 29.
“A total of Rs 1,25,02,557 are released from the Scheduled Tribe Welfare Department in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi for health fund. It is said that there will be no more medical reimbursement after this.”
