Udupi, Aug 30: “Our party workers are proud of the development works done by the MLA. Therefore, they are hurt when someone criticizes that the road is damaged,” said Udupi BJP president Kuyilady Suresh Nayak.
Answering a question over circulating the private photos of the girl on social media, who raised her voice against the damaged roads in Udupi, he said that the girl might have spoken without knowing the works done by our current MLA. “I agree that the roads are damaged this year due to torrential rains. The girl could have telephoned the MLA and spoken about the roads. One should certainly speak about issues in democracy,” he said.
He said that he had written to the minister of railways 20 days ago about issues of extending the Indrali Railway Bridge. “The work will stop for years if the contractor goes to court. Lorries and other vehicles stop on Parkala road due to breakdowns. The patch work done comes out after the rains. There is no scope for concretizing at Parkala. Wet mix remains for one rain. No contractor has a plant now. Tar plants will start functioning only after October,” he said.
