Aug 30: Dakshina Kannada reports 13 Covid cases; six infections in Udupi, one death

Mangaluru/Udupi, Aug 30: Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday, August 30, reported 13 new coronavirus cases while 6 cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,669 out of which 88 are currently active. As many as 27 patients were discharged on August 30.

No deaths were reported on August 30. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,859.

 

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 3.09 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Six coronavirus cases were reported on August 30. The total active Covid cases are 57. One death was reported on August 30.

A total of 10,90,447 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,84,158 have received both doses and 2,43,332 people have received booster doses.

Udupi taluk reported six cases. The positivity rate is 1.2 percent.

One patient is admitted in designated Covid hospital while 5 are in home isolation. Four cases are symptomatic anf two are asymptomatic.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 60,94,570 as fine in 55,123 incidents of mask violation.
