There is no doubt that Indian athletes can wrestle, but they need to learn the rules. We need help for leading athletes from Russia to come to India and help us set up sambo training centres and teach our athletes," he said.

Plans for the future of the Indian Sambo Federation

Mayur Bansode pointed out that the Indian government supports the sport and provides grants for its development. Mayur Bansode said it is important to regulate and formalise the sport.
