Kadaba: Lightning strikes cattle shed – One cow dead, wiring of house burnt

Kadaba, Aug 31: Heavy rains with thunder and lightning lashed the taluk on the evening of Tuesday. Due to a lightning strike on a cattle shed, one cow died at Mardhala here.

The cow belonged to Koragappa Gowda, resident of Kodenkiri under Aittur village near Mardhala. The wiring of the house is completely burnt due to the lightning strike. The inverter was also damaged. The walls of the cowshed have developed cracks. The estimated loss is lacs of rupees. The house inmates survived as they were outside the house.

Several residents have lost their crops to the heavy winds. Arecanut and plantain trees were uprooted.
