Udupi, Sept 2: A review meeting chaired by MLA Raghupathi Bhat was held between agriculture and horticulture department officials on Tuesday, August 30, regarding construction of a solid and liquid resource management (SLRM) unit in the Chanthar panchayat area on a 11-acre plot belonging to Agriculture and Horticulture Research Centre, Brahmavar.

Baby Poojary, president, chanthar grama panchayat, Lakshmi, vice-president, Nagaveni, president, Varamballi village panchayat, Devanand, vice president, Rajashekhar Murthy, Brahmavar Tahsildar, Lakshminarayan Bhat, revenue inspector, Dr Lakshman, Agriculture and Horticulture Research Center, Brahmavar and members of panchayat were present.

Following the meeting, surveyors visited the place on Thursday, where the SLRM unit was to be constructed. Villagers opposed the construction of the unit in the area. After holding a long discussion, officials and the surveyor discontinued their work and departed.
