Bantwal: Two arrested over illegal cattle trafficking, calf rescued

Bantwal, Sep 3: Vittal police unearthed illegal cow trafficking when they were doing usual vehicle inspection near the bus stand at Kollapadavu of Punacha village.

Accused Narayana Naika and Santhosh Kumar, who were inhumanely transporting a male calf in Omni were arrested by the cops. The calf was rescued.

The male calf was tied in a barbaric manner in the car and was being transported from Sharavu to Saradka. The vehicle was waylaid by police personnel Prasanna Kumar and jeep driver Santhosh Kumar.

The value of the confiscated vehicle and calf is Rs 1.52 lac.

    Cynthia DK,no need of bann on all animals slaughter.Let one who doesnt want to eat ,eat something else ,one who wants to eat meat let them .Its like military order bann on animals to slaughter.For some cant without meat some inbetween veg and fish.Let one live as one wants .

    A rare success by the police or is it? Illegal cattle trafficking and barbaric treatment of the animal is the accusation; and most importantly no mention of ownership of the calf. Purpose of the transport is also not clear. This means, they should have taken prior permission to transport & in a vehicle mandated for the purpose? And then troves of comments here are equally funny. In majority of the cases, police manage to get their hands on the cattle and those trafficking escape and in equal number of cases, cattle were stolen. And some involving brazen lifting by sword wielding thieves. This time, police have come with a new twist. Over the period, a perception has been created wherein thieving is fine if it is the cow, because eventually they will be part of the tug of war. Robbers must belong to prison - simple and straight.

    This was bound to happen. RSS ruled BJP govt will eventually take away the freedom to live, eat, sleep, to marry, have a family. Slowly the whole county will be sold and the Nazi govt will be the rule. How smartly people where made to believe that Hinduism is in danger, country will be over thrown by minorties and they believed them. Our life was much better before 2014 and then now. There was peace, cost of living less, inflation was at the lowest, there was jobs, our youth stay with us (now everyone is migrating). No one want to stay. Where are the jobs, the best brains are working for NASA, Pepsi, Cococola, Master card, star bucks, Twitter and so on. We lost them. There is nothing to feel proud when an Indian origin becomes a CEO of an NMC. We should slap ourself for loosing them. It a loss. This country will ruled by Adani, RSS, Ambani and China (They have already finished building a town slowly then will a city, then State, and finally a country and our people will be busy after beef, Hijab, conversion, Nehru, the Godse (the first terroriest), Savakar ( a coward)

    More you tighten the rules more the animals will suffer... Liberalize sale and consumption of beef... Over glorification of animal has to be banned... We Indians are rational thinkers only undone by handful of high handlers... When pork meat is allowed freely in gulf nations why a liberal nation like ours is imposing sanctions on the most widely eaten food???... Have rules to not hurt sentiments, keep things discrete... Regularize instead of banish...
