Mangaluru, Sep 3: The orientation programme for I year Degree students of GFGC Kavoor was held on September 3 in the College auditorium.

Dr Shivarama P, principal of the college addressed the students and welcomed them on behalf of all the teachers of the college. Also, the relevance of higher education was made known to the participants by the Principal.

Professor Louis Manoj, IQAC coordinator of the college spoke about the changes that the students have to adopt to from PUC to Degree classes and the process for growing up and blooming as a constructive citizen of our country.

Dr Geetha M L, HoD of Commerce and Management addressed the students on various associations that the students can join for their personality development and also as a fulfillment of academic requirement.

Professor Avitha Maria Quadras, department of Commerce and Management spoke about UUCMS (Unified University College Management System) and its relevance for registration and academic progress of a student.

Shubha K H, College Physical Education director spoke about the Library facilities and the sports opportunities that the college will make available in the due course of time.
Professor Rekha S N, HoD of English spoke about the Learning Management System (LMS) that the students will be exposed to during their stay in the college for the next (3+1) years.
Dr Santhosh Pinto, department of Commerce and Management spoke about the facilities and scholarships that are available in the college and the process of benefiting out of the same.

Dr Therese Pereira, department of Commerce and Management and IQAC co-coordinator spoke about the inter-collegiate fests and intra college competitions that the students can participate and grow into a resourceful personality.

Professor Mohini, department of Commerce and Management compered the programme and professor Mamatha, HoD of Political Science was present on the dais.

All in all it was a resourceful day for all the first year students who had gathered in large numbers for this programme and who are ready to fly from the coming week and learn from the best.
