Samarasya Mangaluru, Tulu Sahitya Academy celebrate Ganesha festival

Mangaluru, Sep 3: As part of Vinayaka Chathurthi, a special programme was organised in Tulu Bhavan in the city by the Samarasya Mangaluru in collaboration with Tulu Sahitya Academy here on Saturday September 3.

Members of different communities took part in the programme which was seen as a message to spread communal harmony.

Participating in the programme as the chief guest and speaking on the occasion, Walter Nandalike, founder and managing director of Daijiworld Media Pvt Ltd, said, “Celebrating the Ganesha festival irrespective of religion and with the notion that we are all one lays the foundation for a better society."

President of team Samarasya Manjula Nayak welcomed the dignitaries.

Save Life Charitable Trust president Arjun Bhandarkar, and Jabbar Samo of Yakshagana were felicitated on the occasion.

Former MLA J R Lobo, former mayors Ashraf and Shashidar Hegde, DYFI state president Munir Katipalla, Kodiyal Kabar newspaper editor-in-chief Venkatesh Baliga, Tailors Association Urwa president Uday Bangera, District Congress Committee president Harish Kumar, Congress leaders Ivan D'Souza, Ibrahim Kodijal, M G Hegde and other dignitaries were present.

The programme was compered by Pramila and Chethan Kumar rendered the vote of thanks.
