Sep 5: Dakshina Kannada reports 10 Covid cases, 15 infections in Udupi

Mangaluru/Udupi, Sep 5: Dakshina Kannada on Monday, September 5, reported 10 new coronavirus cases while 15 cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,777 out of which 96 are currently active. As many as 18 patients were discharged on September 5.

 

No deaths were reported on September 5. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,859.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 2.09 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

15 coronavirus cases were reported on September 5. The total active Covid cases are 59.

A total of 10,90,480 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,84,210 have received both doses and 2,49,563 people have received booster doses.

Udupi reported 5 cases, while Kundapura registered 8, Karkala added 1 and 1 case was from other district.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 60,94,570 as fine in 55,123 incidents of mask violation.
