Mangaluru: Srinivas University celebrates Onam

Mangaluru, Sep 7: The Institute of Physiotherapy, Srinivas University, staffs and students celebrated the festival of onam titled 'Thimirthonam' at college city campus in Pandeswar, Mangaluru on September 3.

The quadrangle was decorated with pookalam (a traditional flower arrangement), while students came dressed in their best traditional wear. Dr Premkumar, and Dr Radhika Gopal, faculty of Physiotherapy and students inaugurated the event with a lamp lightening. The main attraction of the programme which went throughout the event were the chendamelam, with the traditional dance form 'thiruvathira' followed by culturals and various games including, the vadam vali (tug-of-war).

The traditional onasadhya was served on a banana leaf which enhanced the aesthetic flavour.
