Mangaluru: Teachers’ Day celebrated at St Aloysius College Higher Primary School

Mangaluru, Sep 8: The students and the PTA celebrated this great day with much reverence for the teachers of St Aloysius College Higher Primary School on September 6.

The school band welcomed the chief guest Sathya Gollerkeri, correspondent Fr Gerald Furtado SJ, headmistress Jositta Noronha, PTA vice president Mangala Rai and the entire staff faculty of the primary school with the general salute and led them to the school auditorium.

The PTA executive members ushered the guest and the teachers with floral welcome and there was thunderous round of applaud from the students. The backdrop was beautifully decoratated with the quotation ‘Thanks for being a True Mentor of our Hearts’. To invoke God’s choicest blessings and to thank God for the wonderful teachers the students of class 4 sang a prayer song. The gathering was welcomed by Jovia Agatha Moras and thanked by Deeksha of class 4.

As a tribute to the great mentor Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, the dignitaries and the teacher representatives offered flowers to the portrait of Dr Radhakrishnan. Sneha well expressed the significance of the day. Melodious wishing song was sung by the students and the school cabinet ministers greeted each member of the staff with flowers showing their love and gesture.

Anit Bindu introduced the chief guest of the day, Sathya Gollerkeri. The institution acknowledged and appreciated her services to the primary school. She was an active member of the PTA and a vibrant vice president of the PTA during her sons, Karan and Neil’s schooling as well as after. Sathya Gollerkeri expressed her love and respect to her teachers, as well as the bonding she has with the teachers at St Aloysius Higher Primary school. She interacted with the students and advised them to love and respect their teachers and make them feel proud by being responsible citizens of the nation.

The PTA executive members put their feelings together through their mellifluous voices as they sang the wishing song. As a gesture of love and appreciation they offered a memento to teaching and non- teaching members of the staff. Fr Gerald Furtado SJ, the orrespondent of the school also addressed the gathering and mentioned how significantly a teacher plays a role in each one of lives. Under the guidance of teachers Liya D'Souza, Ashwini K and Anit Bindu the students of class 4 put up a befitting cultural programme. The formal programme concluded with the school Anthem. The entire programme was emceed by Joen Sam Corderio, Siane Lopez, Laxmi Narayan and Sri Devi of class 4.

A get to-gether was arranged by the PTA for the entire faculty of the primary school.
