Udupi: Department of Medical Imaging, MCHP, MAHE organizes MMICON 2022

Udupi, Sep 9: The Manipal Medical Imaging Conference (MMICON) 2022 was organized by the Department of Medical Imaging, Manipal College of Health Professions, with the theme of 'Artificial intelligence and recent trends in Medical Imaging' on September 5 at Manipal.

The conference is aimed at providing insights into the role of artificial intelligence and recent advancements in Medical Imaging Technology. Over 250 delegates had registered for the conference from various colleges across India. It was supported by funding from Wipro GE Health care.

The conference started with an inauguration ceremony chaired by the honorable chief guest Dr M Venkatraya Prabhu (pro vice chancellor- health sciences, MAHE, Manipal), Dr G Arun Maiya, (dean, MCHP, MAHE, Manipal), Dr Prakashini K (professor & head, department of radiodiagnosis and imaging, KMC, MAHE, Manipal), Dr Rajagopal K V (professor, department of radiodiagnosis and imaging, KMC, MAHE, Manipal), Dr B Reshmi (associate dean, MCHP, MAHE, Manipal), Dr Venkataraja Aithal U (associate dean, MCHP, MAHE, Manipal), Dr Saikiran P ( incharge-head, department of Medical Imaging Technology, MCHP, MAHE, Manipal) Dr Arun G Maiya dean, MCHP, delivered a welcome address and Dr Saikiran, incharge- head delivered the overview of the programme.

The chief guest Dr M Venkatraya Prabhu (pro vice chancellor- health sciences) addressed the gathering with his motivational words.

The eminent guest speakers from radiodiagnosis and imaging, medical physics, multinational companies, and engineering backgrounds provided insights into the latest achievements, technologies, and breakthroughs in medical imaging. The oral and poster presentations were conducted for the students and the first three oral and poster winners were awarded prizes.
