Bengaluru, Sept 9: Karnataka’s Large and Medium Industries Murugesh Nirani led an official delegation to meet captains of leading US industries in the country’s capital of Washington DC and extended an invitation to participate in the State’s forthcoming Global Investors Meet (GIM) being held in Bengaluru on November 2, 3 and 4.
Nirani met Dave Sutton, Robert Garner, Mark Riddle and Doug Haskins of Lockheed Martin in Washington DC on Thursday evening.
The minister discussed with the aviation major for setting up of R & D Centre, Skilling Institute and Sakorsky helicopter manufacturing in Karnataka.
The minister with Dean Halter, Paul Weedon, Maya Raichelston and Kyle Ballard of Raytheon Group, Collin’s Aerospace and Pratt and Whitney on further expanding their presence in Karnataka.
These companies have already made a proposal to invest neatly Rs 1,500 crore.
The minister also held a meeting with representatives of Electronics and Semiconductor Devices Manufacturing Association (SIA) and members of American Chamber of Commerce in Washington DC on Thursday evening.
State’s Additional Chief Secretary Dr E V Ramana Reddy, Commissioner for Industries Gunjan Krishna and other officials were present.
The minister is in the US to meet industry captains and other prominent organisations to attract investment proposals in the State as part of the GIM.
