Bengaluru: Shock for consumers - KMF to increase price of milk by Rs three per litre

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Sep 12: It is learnt that Karnataka Milk Federation will increase the price of milk by Rs three per litre.

Unanimous decision in this regard was taken in the annual general body meeting of the federation that was held recently in a private hotel in the city. All the district milk producers’ associations have supported the hike.

In the meeting it was collectively opined that KMF will resort to increase in milk price in order to give more importance to dairy farming in the state as well as the financial situation strengthening of farmers.

KMF president Balachandra Jarkiholi had appealed to the government to increase the price of milk owing to the constant pressure of district milk federations of the state.

In the meeting, it was expressed that except KMF, the price of all other private brands of milk have increased their price and KMF should follow suit. Compared to other brands of milk, the price of Nandini brand milk is less by Rs 8 to 10 as per the opinion of members of the federation.

Dr Kusuma, Milk is so essential for many things and it contains badly needed proteins, fat & carbo hydrates. In our country Millions of children under nourished and milk is so important for small children. Our government treasury is not running short for funds . Government extracts revenues by way of all sorts of taxes, Income taxes other service charges and uses public mony on Cow welfare, errection of statues and crores of rupees wasted on election campaigning, their security arrangements and other infrastructure just for the cause of few hours. why government cannot subsidise essential items importantly on Milk and milk by products. ?

Milk is mainly used in tea & coffeee. This is a very bad food Combination and can ruin your health. similarly Milk mixed with fruits is also a very bad food combination. Better avoid milk after certain age as it has negative effects on health.

A price rise of one rupee would have been okay. How is the common man going to survive at this rate. If 100% of what is earned goes for food then what can be saved? Request KMF to be more considerate at least let the poor children have some milk.

If the milk price is not hiked the farmers will stop rearing cattle . Then we may end up importing milk at double the cost. Protect our farmers .

shock? for what? milk federations are not charity organisations. They need to pay the farmers and when cost of everything else is increasing, its fair to only increase it

They (Chinese cows) eat too much too ! A cow keeper in our neighbourhood leaves his cows in others' vacant plots to graze since he has no land of his own. Sometimes they are left there for 24 hrs in peak summer. Butchers are kinder than these bigots who Milk the cow for selling it but make no provision for it's food.
