Bengaluru, Sept 12:JD(S) legislature party leader H D Kumaraswamy has promised to expose land grab scams involving valuable government properties by influential persons with documents in the State Legislative Assembly, which commenced its session on Monday.
Speaking to media persons in Vidhana Soudha after the day’s session was adjourned as a mark of respect over the death of minister Umesh Katti, the former chief minister alleged that the State Government was itself involved in assisting the land grab by the land mafia involving thousands of crores of rupees worth government property.
Criticising the ruling BJP leaders for demanding documents and evidence when corruption charges were levelled, Kumaraswamy said he was ready to furnish documentary evidence on the floor of the assembly involving land grab by influential.
The JD(S) leader, who addressed the legislature party meeting, said he would raise issues pertaining to the people on account of the rains and flood damages in Bengaluru and 22 districts across the State.
Corruption is rampant in the BJP rule in the State, he said and the documents that he will be releasing on the floor of the assembly is just a sample involving loot of at least Rs 8 to 10 crore worth of public property. "This is just a sample. Let BJP leaders and Prime Minister Narendra Modi understand the gravity of the situation,’’ he said.
Answering questions on his visit to Hyderabad to meet Telangana Chief Minister and Telangana Rashtra Samiti leader K Chandrashekar Rao, he said there is a strong need to forge a viable alternative to both BJP and Congress. It is not a third front, he said making it clear that national parties must be put in their place.
