This is nice. So now on festivals are celebrated based on convenience and not dates? Independence Day for DK will be 15th Aug and Udupi will be 25th Aug ? Look at what we have elected as our leaders people. We young generations are suffering due to our unmatured adult population. Kudos to blind voting

Oldendays Dasara was every time fixed date from Oct.1st to 10th . School kids is to get holidays after mid term exams .Usually exams is to start sept. 2nd week end on 29th ..30th Dasara celebrations then holidays .So fun....we is to say Midterm holidays or Dasara holidays . But now Dasara is based on 40% commission.... so if 40% commission is agreed then date is fixed .. Since 2014 it depends when our politicians are free they decide the date . Not bothered about schools nor the public convivence

Utter confusion. Why are these people interfering in school matters? So many parents like me have scheduled our holidays already, booked the tickets etc. Now sudden changes will really cause turmoil. Hope schools will be given freedom to keep to the already announced holiday schedule.

Experts in confusion -- why no uniformity --in holidays-- If related families have children in neighboring districts -- Dk -- Udupi -- and want to celebrate together DASARA --they cannot have the benefit of full holidays-- various other issues unique to each family --
