Udupi: MLC’s Father-in-law Dies in Accident

Udupi, Apr 21: A pedestrian, who was crossing the road near the fish market in Saligrama town in the taluk, died after a bus knocked him down. The incident occurred on Wednesday April 20.

The deceased has been identified as Narayan Poojary(70), a resident of Hartattu in Kotatattu village, and father-in-law of BJP MLC, Kota Srinivas Poojary.

Poojary had visited a shop by the side of the fish market to buy certain things. He bought the items and was moving to the other side of the road, when a bus running from Kundapur to Udupi hit him. He died on the spot. A case in this respect was registered in Kota police station.

    Mr. A.F Roche.... driving license is in a way, License to kill( because the accident is not considered as murder..!!???). It may be good to control the human beings than controlling the human beings who control the machines. many accidents happen because of the Rash driving and Most of the accidents happen because of the negligence of the pedestrians !!!?????? I feel it is better to take care of yourself, than expecting others to take care of your life..!!!???.

    Very sad to learn about the accidednt, but its very very common in DK and Udupi, as everyone knows how rash the driving here is. The reason behind this negligence driving is, the drivers have no fear of the rules and regulations - they virtually drive in AIR. This is experienced by every driver here, including myself. When someone comes from the wrong side with rash driving, you are not supposed to question them. If you question, on top they abuse you using vulgar and bad words. This is happening only in our State, Karnataka, I must say. Traffic police stare like "dumb and deaf".
