Daijiworld Media Network – Puttur (MS)

Puttur, Sep 13: A man got stale food packet in parcel against the promised mobile phone worth Rs 8,800 at Uppinangady near here.

Bhavani Shankar, who works as security guard in a temple in Uppinangady had recently purchase three VIVO mobile phones for his family members. He got a call from a person who introduced himself as representative of VIVO and said that Bhavani is selected as the lucky consumer of their company as he has brought three mobile phones and he will get one more mobile worth Rs 8,800 for just Rs 1,785. The caller informed to buy the VPP from post office.

Bhavani Shankar believed that the caller must be genuine and went to Uppinangady post office, paid Rs 1,785 and took the parcel. When he opened the parcel he found stale food packet inside.

It is suspected that the network of fraudsters is active within the system of the companies that sell products as this call was from Akanksha marketing company of Bengaluru origin.
