Mangaluru: St Agnes CBSE School organises wellness drive on World Physiotherapy Day

Mangaluru, Sep 14: The department of physiotherapy of Father Muller Medical college in association with Mangaluru round table 115 and Mangaluru Ladies circle 82 organised a wellness drive 'At work, at play let good posture lead the way'.

This drive is been conducted in many of the city schools from September 1-8.

 

The team visited the campus of St Agnes CBSE School on September 5 to educate the children on this meaningful topic. The students of grade IIIrd to VII participated in this session.

The resource persons were Aishwarya Gatty, a faculty and cardiorespiratory physiotherapist and Reshell R Fernandez lecturer and geriatric physiotherapist at Father Muller Medical College Mangaluru.

The other dignitaries were Haron Fernandes, chairman of Mangaluru round table 115 and Monisha D’souza chairperson of Mangaluru Ladies Club 82.

For the students of Grade IIIrd to V the session was conducted by Aishwarya who enthralled the students on the topic how to keep up a rightful posture and protect the body from further ailments. She emphasised the need for a staple diet which is necessary to the growing body. A few tips were also shared to the students to keep the body fit and healthy and right way to carry the school bag was stressed.

For the students of VI and VII the session presenter Reshell too gave couple of tips on healthy body and growing changes. A rightful posture is a key to healthy body was stressed upon. Tips were also shared to maintain a well-groomed body. A skit on healthy eating and exercise was enacted by the students of final year BPT of Father Muller Medical College.

The programme was compered by teachers Manisha and Chetana along with a formal welcome by Anvi of grade V. Teacher Clara and Nishka of grade VI proposed the vote of thanks extending gratitude to the wonderful participation of everyone gathered.

The wellness drive team expressed their gratitude to the principal for giving the wonderful opportunity to present the session. The session was brought to a closure with answering few queries of the students.
