Bengaluru, Sep 14: Karnataka will have 35,000 electric buses by 2030 according to Transport Minister B Sriramulu.

In his reply to a question by Congress member Tanveer Sait in the State Assembly on Wednesday, the minister diesel prices have been increasing every day and “we are incurring losses, we want all our buses to become electric by 2030 so that we start making profits.’’

Sriramulu said diesel buses incur a cost of Rs 68.53 per km. At present, 90 electric buses have been pressed into service in Bengaluru for a 12-year contract under the Smart Cities project.

The per-km cost for these buses is Rs 64.67, the minister said.

Under the union government’s Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid and) Electric vehicles (FAME)-II, Sriramulu said BMTC has been given 75 electric buses out of 300.

These buses have a per-km cost of Rs 61.90, which is considered very economical.

An order has been placed for 921 electric buses through the Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL).

These buses will incur Rs 54 per km, the minister said.

As electricity is mostly produced by coal, pollution will increase; also disposal of lithium from old batteries will be a big issue; these long term factors need to be considered before jumping into unilateral decisions of introducing e-vehicles en masse??

In US the electric vehicles drive is aiming for the same or to replace all fuel based vehicles with these, but in reality more fossil fuel or coal is to be burned to produce the electricity needed to charge them. And the grid will collapse causing black outs in that developed countries. So what this achieves is not green solution but adding more CO2 & pollution in mining the metals required to manufacture the battery cells. Even farmers are urged there to use electric planters to harvesters which will last for only 4 hours & they require to be charged for more than 8 hours again. Do they want farmers to work at night or charge their machines at night with solar panels in night? World Economic Forum members get to benefit by this move as they have invested in these technology. Whole economy will collapse in all developed nations while China will rejoice in their collapse as it controls all the mines producing the metals required for batteries & it can become World's New Super Power thanks to China funded Biden Fraud Family & elites who like Chinese Model of total enslavement of people with Social Credit Score system there. People need to stop the Climate Change Hoax by not buying any propaganda like they did with Con-vid 19.
