Bantwal, Apr 20: Karopadi gram panchayat vice-president was hacked to death on Thursday, April 20 by unidentified assailants who were wearing masks.
Jaleel Karopadi is the person deceased.
As per initial reports, Jaleel Karopadi was in the gram panchayat office when the masked assailants barged in and attacked him with machetes. They threw chilli powder into his eyes before attacking him.
Jaleel, who was seriously injured, succumbed to injuries on the way to hospital at Natekal.
Some past enmity is said to the reason for the murder. But this is unconfirmed.
Police have begun the investigations.
