Dubai: KSCC with CDA, DHA conduct blood donation drive

Dubai, Jul 31: Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) in association with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and Community Development Authority (CDA) organized a blood donation drive at Latifa Hospital, Oud Metha on July 28.

Chief guest Mohammad Shafi Shaikh, inaugurated the event by presenting gift hampers to the first six registered blood donors. He explained the importance of blood donation and how it helps to save lives. He also appreciated KSCC for its third blood donation event in a row because of dedicated community service youngsters and club members.



Mohammad Ismail, vice president of KSCC, highlighted and briefed the gathering about the event. He said human beings are the main source of blood and blood cannot be manufactured. Blood donation is also beneficial in reducing the risk of heart attacks. He also said that the club's vision is to develop expatriates into a well-nourished section of society involved in sports, cultural and social activities. He also appreciated the Community Development Authority for their continuous support and cooperation in their other activities like free medical check-ups in camps, honour labour, year of giving and many other events.

Mohammad Shafi, manager of KSCC and executive members of KSCC were present at the inaugural ceremony of the blood donation drive. A total of 68 people participated in the drive and donated blood to save a life. KSCC presented the blood donors with gifts along with snacks as appreciation. KSCC members also donated platelets used by cancer patients on special request from Latifa Hospital. The event commenced from 8 am and ended with the completion of full units of blood arranged till 2 pm. People were happy and honoured to participate in blood donation.

Mohammad Faraz hosted the ceremony and concluded it by thanking Latifa Hospital, Dubai Health Authority, Community Development Authority and Government of Dubai for their association for this event. He also thanked the sponsors, blood donors, hospital staffs, organizers and volunteers in making the event successful.
