Kuwait: SWAK celebrates annual feast with entertaining event

Kuwait, Feb 4: Shirva Welfare Association Kuwait (SWAK) under the presidentship of Alban D’Souza celebrated its patron feast (Vodlen Fest) at the Indian Community School Auditorium Khaitan on Friday February 2 from 6.45 pm onwards.

The programme commenced with Manohar Prabhu, MC of the day, welcoming the members and the guests, followed by a prayer by joint secretary Lona D'Souza. Committee members sung welcome song “Swagat Swagat” for which lyrics were written by Lancy Rodrigues and music was provided by music maestro Adrian Gomes. President of SWAK – Alban D'souza officially welcomed the entire guest and thanked all the members for their support. Secretary Regina Serrao read out the annual report highlighting the achievements of SWAK.

During the felicitation session, Fr Noel D'Almeida, Fr Mahesh D'Souza, principal - Don Bosco School, Shirva, Fr Sunil Monis (Gujarat) and Vallie D'sa were the chief guests. The entire committee member along with chief guests cut the cake to symbolically start the feast. Fr Noel D'Almeida and Fr Mahesh D'Souza delivered feast message. Outstanding and merit students of 10th, 12th and higher studies were honored by Chief guests. The sponsors, outstanding members and media personnel were also honored during the occasion for their contribution towards SWAK by President Alban D'Souza.

During entertainment session foot-tapping dances were performed by Alisha Gomes, Suman Saldanha, Melrick, Nash, Daniella, Danica Monteiro, Nathan Monterio and SWAK Committe members. Rib-tickling jokes were enacted by Anil, Renny, Sunny, Janet and Pecha. Shirly Coutinho entertained the audience with her instrumental presentation. As a surprise package, Fr Mahesh D'Souza presented melodica instrumental along with music maestro Adrian Gomes. He also mesmerized the audience by singing "Roseline moja mogachen" to the tune of Adrian Gomes music.

A lot of spot prizes were given in between and during dance sessions. Lucky dip draw and housie were conducted to keep the excitement alive. Lucky member and highest lucky dip seller were honored with prizes. Votes of thanks were delivered by vice-president Clifford D'Souza. Fr Sunil Monis and kids offered grace before meal. The programme was well compered by Dr Manohar Prabhu and stage program was supported by Roshny, Allwyn D'Souza and Clifford D'Souza. Music was provided by music maestro Adrian Gomes. DJ Hywel Pinto kept the audience live professionally. Lights and sound were provided by 'Illuminations' Anand D'Souza. The well conducted programme came to an end with masala dance session by DJ Hywel Pinto and grand buffet dinner by Caesars Restaurant.
