Mangaluru: Worker of Mulky hotel flees with stolen cash

Mangaluru, May 23: A worker employed at Adidhan Hotel near Mulky bus stand stole cash from the cash box of the hotel and fled from there. The incident happened on Monday May 22 morning. The hotel owner has filed complaint in this connection in Mulky police station.

Mohan from Kalaburagi district had been working in the said hotel in the capacity of room boy since the last several months. The cashier of the hotel had been briefly away from the counter on Monday morning for visiting toilet. Mohan is said to have noticed that the cashier had kept keys of the cash box at a spot. In the absence of the cashier, he opened the cash box and took away Rs 1.48 lac rupees. When the cashier came out of the toilet, he told him that he would be back after checking the water level in the overhead tank. Mohan has not been seen since then.

The act has been captured by the CCTV cameras installed in the hotel. Mulky police have begun investigation on the basis of the complaint.
