Fabiyana Vas (94), daughter of the late Jacob and the late Remedia Vas, sister of the late Tekla/ the late Bonnaventure Moras, the late Lucy Vas, the late Edwin/the late Stella Vas, Sr Emma, Sr Mary, Alphy/Elsy, Jessy/Walter D'Souza and Dolphy/Lulla, passed away on February 4, 2022.

Funeral cortege leaves residence on Saturday, February 5 at 9.30 am, followed by Mass in Cemetery Chapel and burial.

Dakte Bai as we all fondly called her has passed into the hands of our Lord, to a place of light, refreshment and peace. We will miss her, she was a like a pillar of our home, whenever we went home, she was always there, at the gate, excited, with the brightest smile and heartwarming hugs. Though she was challenged due to her being limited in her speech and hearing, she communicated with all she met, and could gather more interesting facts than us. Dolphy remembers her as 'Another Mother' as he is the youngest, she was supporting Mai in the daily household chores, specially the breakfast she used to prepare for her younger siblings, doing all she could to be a blessing to her family. we loved her and never thought she would go suddenly as she was a fit and healthy 94. Thought she would certainly hit a century. But sadly the bad fall on 31st, then major surgery for the fractured hip, took its toll and she left us without a goodbye. God must have looked into her heart and seeing that she did not want to be a burden to her loved ones, and could not endure the pain and suffering of being immobile, bedridden, took her to her Home in heaven. Her happiest moments were playing with the little children, childlike and excited she would be catching the balls they would throw and make her run. she used to entertain them with her singing nursery rhymes and dancing which she remembered from her childhood. My children found in her a loving grandma and have beautiful memories to cherish. Grateful to Aplhiab and Elsie who saw that she was comfortable and took care of her all through these years. Grateful for all the blessings that she will intercede and send to us. RIP Dear Dakte Bai. Tribute of love from Lulla
