Fr Andrew Anil Sequeira, Capuchin (80), the former General Councilor of the Capuchin Order and the former Provincial of Karnataka province, passed away on September 11, 2024.

Mortal remains will be brought to Capuchin Theologate, Deena Seva Ashram, R V College, Bangalore, where a Requiem Mass will be offered on Friday, September 13 at 3.30 p.m.

Funeral Service and burial will be held in St Fidelis Friary, Monte Mariano, Farangipet on Saturday, September 14 at 3.00 pm.

Fr. Anil we knew in our childhood. They belonged to Taccode parish those days. He acted on the stage for school function. I remember it even now. Andhrew Sequeira . His sisters, one was senior and another Junior. After I joined I never met them. Fr. Anil I had met sometimes in Bangalore and Mysore. May the Lord grant him eternal rest.

I have fond memories of Fr Anil when he was the Rector and Professor of the first Capuchin Regional theologate at Bogadi, in Mysore. Although a learned scholar, he was a simple and down to earth person. He was equipped with wit and humour at the drop of a hat. In the passing away of Fr Anil, we have lost a good soul. My heartfelt condolences to the Capuchin Provincial of the Karnataka Province and all the members and to the family of Fr Anil. May his soul rest in peace ! Naveen Frank Sharjah UAE
