Sr Luella D'Souza UFS (74), passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025.
Funeral rites will be held on Friday, December 19 at 3.00 pm in Somarpann Novitiate, Derlakatte, Mangalore.

I received the news of the passing of Fr Luella with a mixture of sorrow and gratitude. She shaped our early years at St Jude’s Primary School in Venur with a firm but caring hand. Her discipline was never harsh. It was a gift that taught us responsibility, respect and love for learning. She was completely dedicated to her mission. The classroom was not only a place for lessons, but a space where she formed our hearts. Through catechism and her own quiet witness, she planted in many of us a living faith that has continued to guide us. We thank God for her life. The seeds she sowed in young minds and young hearts will continue to bear fruit. May the Lord whom she served receive her into eternal peace, and may her memory inspire us to live with the same sense of duty, conviction and faith. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace.
