Mangaluru/Udupi, Sep 14: Dakshina Kannada on Wednesday, September 14, reported twelve new coronavirus cases while eight cases were registered in Udupi.
The total number of positive cases in Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,899, out of which 63 are currently active. As many as 15 patients were discharged on September 14.
No deaths were reported on September 14. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,860.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.
Positivity rate for the day stood at 1.42 percent.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
Eight coronavirus cases were reported on September 14. The total active Covid cases are 44.
A total of 10,90,615 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,84,809 have received both doses and 2,69,669 people have received booster doses.
Udupi taluk reported six cases while one each infection was from Karkala and Kundapura. All eight cases reported were symptomatic.
